Dear Grace Group leaders,

 

On behalf of Open Hearts Ministry, I want to thank you for all the work you do as you lead your local groups.  Having led my own team this past spring, I know firsthand how rewarding as it is to enter into the stories and hearts of the wounded. I also know it is challenging and exhausting as well.

 

As I move into the summer, I am tired and looking for a rest and a break from leading and planning. Planning ahead is not one of my strong points.  So I have also been challenged to be thinking ahead to be ready when fall comes .  Here are some of the questions that I would like for you to consider for your local ministries:

Do you have a plan for your fall?

Have you identified your leaders?

Have you identified potential participants?

Do you have plans in place for how to get people to start thinking about coming in the fall?

Do you have the dates set aside?

Do you have a “by when” date that you want to get your fall information in print?

Does your church have those dates set aside?

Do you have your pastor’s approval?

Have you asked for funds?

Are you thinking about which leaders you would like to send to SALTS?

And do you have a plan for how to start raising money to send people to SALTS?

 

 

As a way of supporting our local groups, Open Hearts will hold a one day training for anyone in the Great Lakes Region.  This will take place on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 11.  This is for any leader, leader in training, or potential leader who is interested. Our focus will be on improving our skills as group facilitators, the various skills needed as we move through the 12 sessions.  We will spend this day teaching , modeling, doing groups, and fellowshipping together.
