FAQ on Abuse - Answer #2

It is a long list!
In this ministry we have found that abuse covers a wide spectrum of harm/damage done to us. Others tend not to talk about it because they do not recognize it as abuse or feel that they have to endue the harm done to them.  They often feel that what has happened to them happens to everyone in one form or another, so consequently they feel it is no "big deal."  Yet their relationships are a mess and they wonder "Why?" As people begin to recognize that what happened to them is not how God intended them to be treated and begin to name the abuse, they will be at a place where healing can begin in their life and relationships. Talking about our abuse tends to surface pain that is difficult to deal with.  It also surfaces shame that is hidden in addictions or buried in our consciousness.
