Open Hearts Ministry

OHM's Understanding of Healing

The Gospel's "good news" is that there is One called the "light of men" who is full of grace and truth. Jesus is the light that shines in dark places. He is never overcome by what His light reveals. Instead, He overcomes the power that darkness has thrown over us. With regard to healing from the damage of abuse and other wounds, His light is best seen in a safe, small group with leaders who know how to respond with the same grace and truth that they, themselves, have experienced. There, hearts can open up and healing can occur. Out of such healing comes growth that produces "Oaks of Righteousness".

22 But this is a people plundered and looted, all of them trapped in pits or hidden away in prisons. They have become plunder, with no one to rescue them; they have been made loot, with no one to say, "Send them back." 23 Which of you will listen to this or pay close attention in time to come?
Isaiah 42: 22-23

Open Hearts is listening and paying close attention. Our response is to train leaders to facilitate Grace Groups where stories can be entered and healing experienced - perhaps for the first time. Open Hearts is committed to equipping such leaders around the world, as God gives us capacity.

"They may not know exactly why they are there. They slip in a rear door to a room full of others and there they find a safe place, a place for healing. And over the course of time, healing is exactly waht they receive. Troubled and evern hardened faces become joyful and soft and the glow God intended radiates from them again. There is no doubt about the impact it is having in the lives of the poeple who have become part of it. Grace has touched them in a very deep way."
